Football Guy of the Week Nominees: CFB Week 2 and NFL Week 1

Last week, we had one of our biggest blowouts in terms of a Football Guy of the Week winner. Hugh Freeze accumulated an impressive 64% of the vote after coaching from a hospital bed (update: he called the shots over the weekend in a dental chair). Now with the NFL regular season in full swing, there will hopefully be more and more potential nominees coming our way. Let's check out this week's finalists:

Army coach Jeff Monken on his team playing in front of 100,000+ fans at Michigan: "There's a billion people in China that couldn't care less about what happens in this game on Saturday, so let's just have fun and play our very best."

The billions over in China may not have been aware of what went down at The Big House on Saturday, but the millions here in the USA were locked into what was thisclose to becoming a stunner in Ann Arbor. The good news for Michigan, besides the fact that the Wolverines won: Army took Oklahoma to OT last year as well. The Sooners survived and ended up making the College Football Playoff.

Bills DT Ed Oliver: Wore a shirt that spelled “chip” on his shoulder

Ed Oliver took needing a constant reminder to the next level here. This probably helped him notch a pair of tackles and a QB hit in his NFL debut.

Bill Belichick on being asked about football season: “I like football. I like football season and all the things that go with it.”

There's no reason to question or make fun of what Belichick does or says at this point. You see the clinic the Pats put on last night? He can be as boring as he wants at the podium.

Michigan State Coach Mark Dantonio on his offense: "There's only so many ways to skin a cat. At the end of the day you've got to skin the cat. There's another good quote for you. Write that down."

The best part about this one was Dantonio adding the fact that the wanted this little quote to go viral at the end there. Congrats coach, it landed you as a Football Guy of the Week nominee.
