If You Want To Be Depressed About Mitch Trubisky And The Bears Listen To Warren Sharp On Pardon My Take

I woke up in a bad mood this morning. The Cubs died, I can’t go on the internet without people throwing shade at the Hawks and Notre Dame, it’s still so fucking hot and muggy on September 20th that I can’t take my dog out to piss without sweating, and I’ve had to see myself on camera a lot lately and my body is shaped like an iv bag. BUT…at least I felt okay about the Bears. I had talked myself into the Bears figuring it out. Then I put on PMT and this dude Warren Sharp

This guy gets on the show and blows you away with his brain. Analytics, efficiencies, gambling, consulting with the NFL. It was impressive. PMT builds this guy up and up and up until you believe him to be smarter than any football guy you’ve heard. Sharp tells you how important passing is, how the game has changed, how teams need to throw the ball to win, and it starts to sink in that the Bears can’t do ANY of that. Which is tough to hear because our new motto in Chicago is

RTDB

But then…the first thing out of Sharp’s mouth is that “I agree with Mitch’s head coach in the way that he’s utilizes Mitch. I am on board with their plan”.

So passing is good…unless you have Mitch Trubisky as your quarterback. If that is the case then the smart thing to do is the inefficient thing meaning…run the damn ball. That is a tough pill to swallow.

This is our fate. An inescapable destiny. The Bears are just never be able to put a complete team together. The defense is there. It’s a championship defense. The offense…looks like it has enough interesting pieces to be at least average, but we just haven’t seen it and maybe it’s because the trigger man is Mitch. Sharp also said that some of the most dynamic offenses are run out of 12 and 21 personnel. Meaning One back and two TEs or two TEs and one back. Meaning…a fullback…which the Bears don’t have the on the roster. And…TE isn’t exactly a strength either.

He then went on to trash Ryan Pace’s general roster building strategy and said the Bears have this year and maybe next year to win a Super Bowl before this all comes crashing down. We knew that already though. The clock is ticking. It’s going to be a stressful fucking year. No easy games with this offense. Buckle up, Bear down.

PS: We need to draft a Gardner Minshew II II. Just a smart guy who can get rid of the ball on time and see the defense. And that might be the most reactionary thing ever after two weeks and listening to Minshew on this same PMT episode but that is where my dumb brain is right now.
