Chicago Mobster Joey "The Clown" Lombardo Died Over The Weekend

WGN -  Former Chicago mob boss Joey “The Clown” Lombardo died Saturday at a maximum security prison in Colorado.

Lombardo was serving life for his conviction in the 2007 Family Secrets case that pulled back the curtain on the Chicago Outfit.

I thought this was worth at least throwing up a quick blog about since so many people follow the old school Chicago mob so closely. Joey “The Clown” Lombardo was by all accounts a bad dude. If you’ve seen the movie ‘Casino’ he was Joe Pesci’s (Tony Spilotro) character’s capo. He was famous for always fucking with the media by putting a cut out newspaper over his face after court. I would show it to you here, but I don’t want to get us sued so just google it. It’s very easy to find.

He actually has a pretty crazy story about how they caught him in Elmwood Park after being at large for eight months. I grew up just outside of EP and I still remember it vividly because it’s not everyday you hear that a damn mobster the FBI is after is caught nearby. Shit was insane because all you hear about nowadays is how the mob isn’t really around anymore, that it’s not the same, etc. It was around that day though. Just a wild day for the neighborhood being so close by.
