Mr. National Ryan Zimmerman Has NO Plans To Retire
Ryan Zimmerman IS Mr. National. He’s seen it all, done it all. He was the Nats first ever draft pick in 2005, a local kid out of UVA. He is the Nats all time leader in basically every statistical category. He has been with the club through the 50 win seasons that seemingly never ended, and the 100 win seasons where the Nats fell short. And then on a personal level, he’s battled all sorts of injuries and a position change from 3rd to 1st. It’s been a battle for Zim the last few years, and whispers of retirement were always floating. The question if he was going to be able to play at a major league level again were thrown around. And he proved all the doubters wrong. Ryan battled back, got healthy, and now look at him. World Champion, and gets to say he hit the Nats first ever home run in a World Series.
So what now? Keep on going.
He’s just the man. And now he’s helping the next generation of Nats legends like Soto and Robles become legends of their own. Thank you Zim, and well, well, well, well deserved.
