Fixing ESPN's Questionable Top 10 College Football Games Of All Time List
Hello. This list STINKS:
Let's start with the worst ranking: App State @ Michigan (2007) at number 3. This is the most overrated game in college football history. Was it significant? Yes, however, that Michigan team just wasn't that good. Sure, they were No. 5 at the moment, but that Michigan team finished a smooth 8-4 on the season, unranked. The point spread of that game was 33. There have been 9 bigger upsets, according to the point spread, in college football history. App State went on to win the FCS Championship that year. Was it a historic win? Yeah, but it shouldn't be anywhere close to #3 on this list. Saying it's better than USC vs. Texas in the 2007 championship is banana land.
I'd say USC vs. Texas is the best game of all time. I can listen to Miami - Nebraska in 71 and Nebraska - Oklahoma in 1984.
I don't know how they left off Boise State - Oklahoma in 2007. I'd say that was bigger than Michigan - App State.
What about Oklahoma - Georgia in the Rose Bowl a few years ago? Clemson finally beating Alabama in 2017? That was an absolutely amazing game. Uhhhh the Kick Six game in 2013?!??!?!?
LSU - Ole Miss in 1959 finished 7-3. They then played again later in the season and Ole Miss won 21-0. Get that boomer shit off this list.
My list:
1. USC - Texas (2006)
2. Miami - Nebraska (1984)
3. Nebraska - Oklahoma (1971)
4. Alabama - Auburn (2013)
5. Ohio State - Miami (2003)
6. Boise State - Oklahoma (2007)
7. Notre Dame - Miami (1988)
8. Clemson - Alabama (2017)
9. Boston College - Miami (1984)
10. UConn - Notre Dame (2009)
