The Blog You've Been Waiting For - Ranking All The Division I College Hoops Teams For The 2019-20 Season
Oh, hello there. Welcome back to college basketball season. It's officially the greatest time of the year and if you disagree, well, that's just your opinion. But we might as well get right into it. It's the blog you've been waiting for. It's the blog that everyone has talked about for a year. Remember this?
We’re not going to spend too much time previewing. We’re going to get right into it. Just know that I used myself along with texting coaches throughout multiple conferences to fact check everything and make sure I didn’t have any team crazy off. So know I did put effort into this and did consult others. That said these are my rankings so I’ll put teams where I see fit. This is as simple as who do I think are the best teams. It’s part projection and part what I think of roster/talent. Let’s go.
No. 353 - No. 2 - Teams not named Kentucky
Come on you thought I was crazy enough to do this again? I don't think so. Do you know how long it takes to rank and write about 353 teams? No one has time for that right now. Plus, this is my blog and my rankings therefore this is how I feel. You're not Kentucky? You're not No. 1
1. Kentucky
Is this a chance for me to talk about Kentucky? Absolutely. Let's get into it. They are a unique team by Kentucky standards. There is no sure fire top-10 NBA talent - although I think Maxey ends up a top-10 guy and Whitney is projected in the late teens. Now, why do I think this team is a national title contender and the favorite for it?
Roster versatility.
They can play 3 guards. They can run Richards and Montgomery at the 4/5. They can bring in Sestina who is a stretch. They can go true small ball. They have guys like Brooks and Whitney that can play the 3 or 4 spot. They have a 'death' lineup in a way if Calipari wants to use that. I love teams that have that versatility to go with the talent. There's also the fact that they can shoot. Juzang, Sestina, Quickley are all good shooters. Maxey is fine. Montgomery has decent touch for a big guy out at 15 feet. Hagans statistically isn't a good shooter but his shot is not broken by any means.
Oh and this was also 100% a reason to promote the shirt. You made it this far, might as well just buy it now.
