Carter Hart Owns The NHL's Leading Scorer As The Flyers Take Down The Bruins To Win Their 2nd Straight Shootout Of The Weekend

Carter. Mother. Fucking. Hart.

If there was ever a doubt that Carter Hart is going to be an elite goaltender in the National Hockey League, you could immediately roll those doubts up into a little ball and shove them up your ass tonight. I mean what an other-worldly performance from the kid tonight. Not only did he stuff Pasta into his back pocket but he was making massive saves all damn night to keep the Flyers in this game even when the ice was tilted as all hell in the 3rd period.

But first lets talk about how he took the NHL's leading goal scorer and turned him into mush tonight. First up there was the penalty shot in the 3rd period. Pasta had a chance to put this game away with a goal here since the Flyers were completely out of gas. Not sure if you know this or not but they won a shootout in Toronto last night, so they were a little tired tonight. A goal here would have been game over. But instead, I guess David Pastrnak didn't realize that Carter Hart had already been warmed up earlier in the night so he gave him a nice little gumball to chew on.

Then we get to the shootout. Well first, the Flyers killed off a huge penalty with 3 minutes left in the 3rd to get the game to overtime, and then they played the overtime perfectly. They didn't take too many chances because they knew they didn't have the gas to get back if Boston went on a break the other way. So we get to the shootout and thanks to Joel Farabee and his silky smooth hands, the Flyers had the advantage.

Just look at that little stick twirl after he goes top bunk. Smooth as butter. And after 2 Carter Hart saves, David Pastrnak finally had the opportunity to redeem himself. A goal here keeps the shootout going, but Carter Hart didn't even let him get off a shot.

Carter Hart earned every bit of that celly, too. Because the show he put on tonight was sensational. Like I said earlier, just massive save after massive save to give the Flyers a chance to at least hold on to 1 point from this game. Like in the aforementioned late 3rd period Boston powerplay.

A great 65+ minutes from Carter Hart tonight and a really great 40 minutes from the rest of the Flyers. Again, they ran out of gas in the 3rd but they were on the tail end of a back-to-back where they had just played a full overtime the night before. Boston is a great team so obviously they were going to come out with a ton of juice in the 3rd. But the first 2 periods? Just some really great shit all around for the Flyers. Like this Travis Konecny goal to cap off a casual 4v1 rush.

Look at the angle that Konecny takes to the net here. He peels off, slides in behind Couturier and crashes the net like a mad man. That's beautiful awareness there. Also beautiful awareness by me to know that goal was coming after TK got buried along the boards a shift or two before the goal.

And then how about our sweet young prince Phil Myers, eh? I mean the puck movement on this play here was beyond arousing. It was in the 1st period and I'm still all boned up here. Might need to call a doctor but can you blame me?

3 straight games with a goal from Phil Myers. Not too bad, especially when you consider that shit hasn't happened for a Flyers defenseman since 1987.

What a win. What a weekend. 4 straight for the boys, 6 straight with at least a point. This team is rolling right now. Wednesday is going to be a battle but the fellas are playing some hard dick hockey right now. Can't ask for anything more.
