Ben Roethlisberger Says He's “Jealous” Of His Teammates That Get To Face The Browns This Week
Alright so all you toothless Pittsburgh fans can make jokes about how Big Ben has more wins in Cleveland than any of the Browns other 30 quarterbacks they've had since coming back to the NFL in 1999, I do not care. It's an embarrassing stat because we're an embarrassing organization. But for him to say he's "jealous" that his teammates get to play the Browns this week is him barking up the wrong tree. You don't want to give any bulletin board material to the more talented team when you're about to have such BIG GAME.
We're playing meaningful football in November, baby!! Last wild card team vs. a team IN THE HUNT.
And neither side should need any extra fuel here in a game with such big playoff implications, but Big Ben is giving the Browns way too much material from someone who isn't even playing!!! I don't care if he meant he was jealous that they get to play in a rivalry game, it comes off that he wishes he could play the Browns because they're always so bad. It comes off that he wants to pad his stats and beat Cleveland, again. It sounds like he wants to play this overhyped team. It was definitely a shot.
And honestly, Big Ben shouldn't be taking shots at Cleveland anyways. He should be thanking them. Because the Browns passing on him was the greatest thing that's ever happened in his entire life. Yeah I guess he can use it as fuel that the hometown team went the other way, but would you really want to have been drafted by them….?
Cleveland is where quarterbacks come to die. Ben Roethlisberger would've flamed out in two years had he been drafted #6 instead of Kellen Winslow Jr, and Brady Quinn would've led the Steelers to a Super Bowl had he been drafted by Pittsburgh.
So watch your tone this week, Benjamin. You owe us a thank you. We've given you 23 wins on your resume, didn't draft you, and have made your division a three team race since 1999. Keep our name out of your mouth.
Oh, and I wonder if Mason Rudolph is excited to play Myles Garrett and the Browns….
Probably not.
