Bruins Mailbag - 4 Straight Losses, More Injuries, Horrific Shootout Stats
4 straight losses. More injuries. Fuck the shootout. Let's get to the questions...
Why do these losses hurt so much?
Probably because last year ended in horrific fashion. They were off to a great start and now they're facing adversity. We'll see if they can push through.
Are real flaws in this team being shown during the skid or is it a combo of fatigue injuries etc or something completely different?
I think it's a little bit of both - they just have flashes of playing well and flashes of playing horrible. They have a ton of injuries and we haven't really seen this team for what it is with everyone is at 100%. Bodies are coming back though. I imagine Kevan Miller will be in the lineup soon enough.
What's your ideal lineup with the current guys?
I move David Pastrnak down to play with David Krejci and put Charlie Coyle back as 3C. Then you can move a Danton Heinen or an Anders Bjork up to the first line. Pasta is so red hot that I think he can keep it going with David Krejci.
Why can’t they win a shoot out. And where the hell is Kevan Miller?
It's actually crazy how statistically bad they are in the shootout. Kevan Miller will return soon. He's been practicing in a regular practice sweater. Best guess is next week.
Saw this on the B's reddit and it's mind blowing.
News, notes and quotes:
- Zach Senyshyn suffered a lower body injury vs. Florida and will be re-evaluated in 4 weeks. Trent Frederic (5A in 15GP in the AHL) has been recalled from the Providence Bruins.
- Tuukka Rask is playing tomorrow night vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jaroslav Halak will be in net Saturday night vs. the Washington Capitals. I thought Halak would have gotten the next start but I guess they want Rask to snap out of his poor play.
Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Bjork - Krejci - Coyle
Frederic - Lindholm - Heinen
Nordstrom - Kuraly - Wagner
Chara - McAvoy
Grzelcyk - Carlo
Vaakanainen - Clifton
- Those are the expected lines vs. TOR. Really really like that 2nd line with Anders Bjork, David Krejci and Charlie Coyle. Would be awesome if they could get some chemistry going. Top 6 mins for Anders Bjork could do him some good. Don't love the RW experiment with Coyle but that's not going to change until Jake DeBrusk returns.
- That third line is something. The "4th line" will play more minutes than them. #FreeHeinen
Go get your Pasta La Vista shirt on sale now so I can pay for my wedding. Big game tomorrow night in Toronto. Time to get back in the win column.
