Bruins Shit Pump Devils 5-1 In New Jersey
There was a shitpumping tonight at the hands of the Boston Bruins in New Jersey. 5-1 the final from the Prudential Center after 2 snipes from David Pastrnak, 2 snipes from Matt Grzelcyk and New Jersey's own Cliffy Hockey getting on the scoresheet.
Matt Grzelcyk and David Pastrnak scored 14 seconds apart to open the scoring in the 1st. Two beautiful snipes.
First of the season for Gryz.
Blake Coleman made it a 1 goal game in the 2nd period.
But the Bruins added 3 more in the 3rd for the 5-1 win. I repeat, David Pastrnak and Matt Grzelcyk each sniping (again) in the 3rd.
This goal from Gryzzy though was a thing of beauty. Dangled PK Subban at the blueline, then picked the top corner.
I'm pretty sure Subban has to retire after this. Those are the rules.
Connor Clifton (New Jersey's own) put the game out of reach with his shot from downtown.
FINAL: Boston 5, New Jersey 1
News notes and quotes:
- Obviously with Torey Krug out of the lineup we knew Matt Grzelcyk had to step up, but I don't think anyone saw a night like this happening. 2 gorgeous goals. First 2 point night. First goals of the season. Krug has been skating and a return looks good for next week. But man, what a game from Gryz.
- Patrice Bergeron traveled with the team but did not play. Was out there for morning skate and felt good but was not on the ice for warm ups. Would rather the B's hold him out for when they need him.

- Jake DeBrusk returned to the lineup (so did Brett Ritchie) and looked like himself again. Almost had a breakaway tuck early in the game.
- The New Jersey Devils stink. I thought for sure they were a playoff team with the acquisitions they got in the summer but man. They just looked uninspired tonight. No chance Taylor Hall re-signs. (imo)
- David Pastrnak recorded 2 goals tonight for his 150th and 151st NHL goals. He's the 2nd fastest Bruin to reach 150 goals (Barry Pederson was the fastest). Pasta leads the league with 19 goals this season. 19! Just a delight to watch. Never gets old screaming Pasta La Vista, baby.
- It's hard to talk about any negatives in such a big win but the space Blake Coleman had on his goal tonight was…. not great. Chuckie gave him a little too much space. p.s McAvoy is getting on the board Thursday vs. Buffalo. I feel it.
- Shout out to Cliffy Hockey scoring one for his friends and family in attendance tonight.
- I love the term shitpumping, shout out Ryan Whitney.
Bruins are back at it on Thursday night back home against the Buffalo Sabres.
It was a great night to win a hockey game.
