Kyle Busch Attempts to Fix the Relationship Between Pardon My Take and Joey Logano

After taking home his second Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship just a couple of weeks ago, Kyle Busch made an appearance on today’s Pardon My Take. When talking with Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter, Busch discussed how he first got involved in racing at such a young age, some of the gnarly crashes he’s been involved in, and much more. With NASCAR Driver Denny Hamlin being on the show previously, Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter reaffirmed that they are big time Denny guys. So, what was the next order of business? To get Joey Logano on the phone, a guy who has no shortage of history with both Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin:

And as Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter always do, they back their recurring guests:

So, it was time to get Logano on the phone, to see if they could extinguish the beef that was there…

Kyle Busch: Hey, so I’m here with some friends of Denny [Hamlin], and they kind of wanted to talk to you for a second. You mind?

Joey Logano: Sure.

Mr. Cat: Hey Joey, it’s Big Cat from Barstool. You blocked me on Twitter. I wanted to bury the hatchet. I’m a Denny guy through and through, I’ve probably said some things. But I wanted to apologize, be the bigger man and say let’s bury that hatchet and let bygones be bygones.

Joey Logano: Sure, I mean you’re going to stop running your big mouth, right?

Mr. Cat: So, you do know! You noticed me chirping you. I probably went over the line.

Joey Logano: Well, you weren’t the only one.

Kyle Busch: We all have our haters, right?

Mr. Cat: Listen, we can change the narrative. Here’s what we’ll do. Can I keep saying Slowgano? Am I allowed to say that still?

Joey Logano: I don’t really like that one.

Mr. Cat: Fuck!

Joey Logano: I feel like I’ve earned the right for you not to call me that.

Mr. Commenter: How about this: we won’t say Slowgano anymore, but can we call you Slowy Logano?

Joey Logano: I don’t like that one, either.

Kyle Busch: Can you give them one that you do like?

Joey Logano: Just this name, Joey Logano, is pretty good. I kind of like that one. NASCAR Champion Joey Logano.

Mr. Cat: Ugh, no! We might have to walk away from the negotiation table here, this might not work out.

Mr. Commenter: Former NASCAR Champion, Joey Logano.

Mr. Cat: Alright fine. Keep me blocked and we’ll be just Denny guys forever, OK?

Joey Logano: Alright, that sounds like a good plan.

Mr. Cat: Alright, thanks Joey. Appreciate it, man.

Kyle Busch: It seems like this relationship has really cued itself right into the right areas.

Mr. Cat: We tried.

Mr. Commenter: I think we all know where we stand.

Kyle Busch: We’re all friends. We live on this earth together; we might as well be friends.

Joey Logano: Hey, if you’re calling me all this, what are you calling Kyle Busch?

Mr. Cat: Well, we didn’t really know that Kyle Busch was a jerk, but at least he admits he’s a jerk.

Mr. Commenter: I’m calling him Kyle Landing Strip now.

Mr. Cat: Well, Joey, thanks for at least trying. There’s nothing we can do. We’ll just walk away, shake hands over the phone, and we’ll say, hey, we tried to make this work, it didn’t work. Hopefully we’ll see each other sometime.

Joey Logano: It was a half-assed effort, but I’ll give it to you.

I’d say this went as well as it could, excluding the fact that Mr. Cat, Mr. Commenter, and Slowgano totally didn’t squash their beef. So, it looks like Mr. Cat will continue to be blocked, and he and Mr. Commenter are now Kyle Busch guys, too. Stay tuned though, because it wouldn’t shock me if there is more beef on the racetrack in the coming years.
