Guess What State Is The Central Hub For World Cup Conversations? That's Right, Iowa
Currently, the #1 state in the US for #WorldCup2014 conversation is… Iowa.

So earlier Nate blogged the TV markets and which ones are watching the most World Cup and how DC, New York and Boston were all near the top. To that blog I say “So what?”. Any run-of-the-mill moron can turn on a TV and act like they’re watching the world’s most poplar game and understanding it. Any big city hipster can stare at a TV screen and act like they’re cultured. But it takes a real soccer fan to actually have conversations about it. It takes a real soccer fan to watch the game, have it touch your soul in a certain spiritual way and then seek out others to break it down and have a conversation. That’s what we Iowans are doing. People think we’re nothing but clueless farmers but in reality we’re more in touch with the rest of the world than any other part of the country. All while sitting here in the Midwest. We’re watching and breaking down every volley, every through ball, every sniper shot flop and every defensive tactic. We know beauty when we see it. We didn’t even know soccer was a sport until a couple weeks ago and we’re already leading the constructive conversation charge. Classic Iowa.
We’d be on that list of TV markets if there weren’t 500,000 East coast idiots to every 1 thoughtful Iowan. This here is a simple case of quality over quantity.
