Bottom 10 Worst Movies Of 2020 From YOU, The Audience

I'll say this, "WORST LISTS" are mean spirited and don't really achieve anything... but we made ours anyway (my list will countdown 10 at a time leading up to the Oscars in a few weeks). Throughout the year our audience rated every movie they saw on a scale of 0-100 and, with the year wrapped up, we have reached the definitive list of movie ratings for 2019.

The worst movie of 2019 according to our audience is another John Travolta banger: 'The Fanatic'

Our audience actually picked another John Travolta movie last year as the worst movie, as well. What movie, you ask? Well...

I have seen some folks say that 'The Fanatic' isn't all that bad and Travolta was decent in the role. Look, movies are subjective, but I couldn't disagree more with that line of thinking and agree more with our audience. To me, 'The Fanatic' was a brutal movie, with painfully uncomfortable acting by Travolta. If I were to choose one word to describe the movie I would have to go with the word "displeasing."

When it comes to 'The Fanatic', I would suggest taking a hard pass.

There are a few other movies worth pointing out, like 'Countdown'

DID YOU KNOW TECHNOLOGY CAN BE BAD? I don't have anything good to say about 'Countdown', it's a really, really tough movie to get through. The concept is something that might have been intriguing 10 years ago, now as we closed in on the start of 2020's.

    Then there is 'Cats'

    (Fuuuuuuuck) Need I say more?

Going back to "TECHNOLOGY IS BAD," while I didn't find it to be one of the Bottom 10 movies of the year, the audience really did not like 'Jexi'

It's a pretty weak movie, especially in terms of comedy. There are plenty of cringeworthy moments, but the one in trailer spoofing a BuzzFeed-like work environment is more human that feels dated by a few years. 'Superbad' and the Apatow movies of the 2000's were made in a way that keeps them fairly timeless, now we get comedies that feel old and stale only a few months after release.

I could go on and on, but I will end with a Keanu Reeves movie: 'Replicas'

There is no denying that Keanu has been on a heater as of late and is one of the most beloved people in Hollywood. But 'Replicas' was a very bad movie that didn't cater at all to his skills or on-screen presence. 'Replicas' is a movie with a story and script that play up the "cliches" that have always followed around Keanu and his movies. It's hard to tell how these types of movies get made, or how or why roles are accepted, but the more selective, the better for Keanu going forward.
