Francesa Dives Into Soccer Coverage By Asking If World Cup Athletes Can Kick With Both Legs
Today Mike opened his show talking about the Mets promoting a Citi Field sleepover night. Most important sporting event in the world has the planet captivated and Mike is talking about the Mets and the Yankees bullpen and shit.
And then he finally caved in. Had the St. John’s soccer coach on as his World Cup expert where he was able to ask hard hitting questions such as “can players kick with both legs?” We delved even deeper with hard hitting questions like “do you win a trophy?”
And then we unlocked the secrets behind stoppage time:
Hilarious. Francesa has finally become a parody of himself. Like Mike Zaun couldn’t make a spoof video this funny, except it was real life and it was actually his show. This interview was almost so preposterous you almost wonder if it was intentional. Like asking such ridiculous questions he was almost trying to make a point that he doesn’t give a fuck about the game. Thats the beauty of Mike. You can never really tell if hes being serious or if he’s doing it intentionally. I mean none of us here are soccer experts but asking a NCAA head coach during a World Cup interview if players can kick with both legs is genuinely preposterous. I am usually prepared for absolutely anything to come out of Mike’s mouth but even I was surprised by that one. This Mongo summed it up best:
That is the exact equivalent. When Mike gets going like this I get irrationally excited and actually start saying shit like “I Can’t…I can’t.” Just unreasonably excited for a fat old man on the radio about to say some outrageous shit.
PS – Bonus of him just eviscerating Mets and their Citi Field sleepover. “The Mets can’t get you there for a game when they’re there…they’re gonna get you to a game when they’re not there?” “Did Evan go to this? Evan would bring a date to this.” “300 people? Mr. Met would know everybody by name! Mr. Met and Mrs. Met are on everybody’s Christmas Card list from last year because they know everybody by name.” Incredible
