World Cup Preview With SamsArmy and Chief From BarstoolChicago
Barstool, and America in general, has World Cup Fever. While the majority of our coverage has centered on hot girls in the stands, biting people, and jingoistic nationalism (which I am all for), Sam (@BarstoolSam) over at Barstool Chicago has actually been doing some pretty terrific daily write-ups on the World Cup and US Mens National Team. I had him hop on a podcast with myself and the Blackhawks writer Chief (@BarstoolChief) who is a closet soccer nut himself to talk about the US Team’s Chances, predictions for the first round, and who we expect will win the entire thing/gambling advice. Breakdown of the podcast is as follows if you only want to listen to certain parts:
- 00-18 minutes are about US Soccer
- 18-42 is first round predictions
- Rest is who will win it all/gambling
Hope you enjoy it and follow me on twitter @CharlieWisco
PS: We were going to do a section of proposed rule changes to make soccer more interesting and forgot. My idea was to have themed games before the main tournament. Like one theme would be World War 2 where the Allied and Axis powers would play. An All-Star team of the United States, England, and France would play the best players of Germany, Japan, Italy, and Russia. Russian players switch to the Allied team at halftime. Tell me that isn’t the best idea you’ve ever heard. Would bring a whole new meaning to “Group of Death”.
