I'm Calling Bullshit On This "Most Hated MLB Teams By State" Map

So I saw this map pop through my timeline and immediately thought I was being trolled by KB. But as far as I can tell, @TodayInSports3 isn't him. I'm not sure about @TodayInSports1 or @TodayInSports2. But @TodayInSports3 seems to be on the up and up.

Now I'm not sure this fancy "geotagging Twitter data" that was used to come up with this map. But as a Mets fan, let me tell you my Twitter data that proves this entire map is a farce. I follow a shitload of people on #MetsTwitter and there is nooooooo way any team is hated in New York more than my beloved New York Mets. You know why? Because Mets fans hate their team more than any other team in baseball. Sure we love the Mets too. But the Twitter shitstorms that emerge from Mets fans during whatever on/off field disaster that dumbass team gets itself into is fueled with more hate than any Red Sox slander from Yankees fans. Do you know how many Mets fans live in New York? A shitload. Not as much as Yankees fans. But if you add up how much Mets fans hate their own team with how much the extra weasely Yankees fans hate the Mets, that pushes the Mets wayyyy past the amount of hatred New York has for the Red Sox, who are seen as a friend to Mets fans because Yankees fans hate them, hence the Mets Sox alliance.

Which takes me to my next point. What type of assholes are Braves fans that the Mets are the most hated team down in Braves Country? Your team owning a rival team for pretty much your entire life should cause nothing but warm feelings inside. It doesn't matter if you grew up watching Chipper Jones or Freddie Freeman. If those dudes were coming up to the plate in a big spot against the Mets, they were gutting all the idiot Mets fans like myself. If I was a Braves fan, my two favorite teams would be the Braves and the Mets. Then again, based on their attendance numbers, I'm not sure Braves fans actually exist. But I would think if they did, they'd hate a team like the Nationals that is good and resides much closer to Atlanta than the Mets do or the Cardinals that have knocked them out of the playoffs twice in the last seven years.

Now I'm sure there is some legit Midwestern hatred between the Cubs and Cardinals in states because I see a bunch of usually nice people get into gutter wars on Twitter often enough when those teams play each other and it's clear that any NL West fanbase not named the Dodgers hate the fuck out of the Dodgers because they have a bazillion dollar payroll as well as a habit of making the World Series pretty much whenever they want now that they are filthy rich. But this map should only have two logos in my mind. The Astros because they are no good dirty cheaters and the Yankees because they are the team no good dirty Yankees fans root for. Everything else is wrong, no offense @TodayInSports3.

Shout out Alaska and Hawaii for knowing who to hate despite not being in the continental 48.
