Good News: The Wilpons Say They Are Still Selling The Mets! Bad News: I Don't Believe A Fucking Word The Wilpons Say!
Now that our savior Straight Cash Stevie Cohen has officially been cuncelled, it's time for the Wilpons to try to save some face and letting the fans know that the team is still for sale right before the season starts is Step 1. Once pitchers and catchers report to camps followed by the first warm day, everyone will get that excited feeling for baseball in their stomach and immediately turn the page to looking forward for the season to start. I'm not saying that fans won't still hate the living fuck out of the Wilpons. I expect "SELL THE TEAM" chants for rain down from Citi Field during the dozen or so embarrassing moments that will occur this year. But those fucking weasels know that saying the team is up for sale now followed by the inevitable wave of excitement for the new season once Spring Training begins is the perfect way to simmer down the five alarm blaze that flared up once the Cohen deal went through.
I know that that everything about this statement points to the Wilpons selling the team. But considering everything they have done since the Madoff scandal, do you trust any of them one bit? They have backed out of TWO sales of the team at the last minute over the last ten years, turned down Uncle Stevie's offer that was for a cool billion dollars more than the Mets were reportedly recently valued at, and that any new owner may have to keep Jeff Wilpon on the payroll with a raise for at least 5+ years and maybe also wipe his ass, do you ever think a sale is actually going to happen? Because it's starting to feel like the Wilpons are going to be incompetently running the Mets forever. I mean they couldn't even get the announcement of the team getting put on the block before everything got traced back to some sort of nepotism connection.
Along with this definitely not soul crushing tidbit.
Anyway, I gotta shout out my guy Stone Cold Steve Cohen for dropping this statement right on the Wilpons' dumb faces knowing damn well that the Mets almost definitely won't end up an offer that trumps what he was willing to pay.
Along with some kind words to the Mets fans he tried to save and the fuckheads at MLB that are content with letting a big market team get mismanaged to mediocrity.
If only there was another person with more money than God that saw Queens as the perfect place to expand his empire, got shooed out, but now sees a way to get on the good sides of millions of tax paying residents.
I cannot WAIT to stop having to blog about my teams' shitty owners. Hopefully that can happen sometime before 2030. But for Mets fans that want to listen to KFC and I talk about the fresh wound on our souls, here is yesterday's emergency We Gotta Believe episode.
Also, I am ending my blogs with ### for the rest of the day because it makes even the Wilpons seem prestigious as they spew their bullshit on us once again.
