“We believe that we’re going to come out of this and be successful,” Smith said. “I know that I’m going to be successful and I believe in all my teammates in saying that we’ll all be successful. We don’t like to talk about the future, because we’re living in the right now, but it’s almost exciting to think about all the room for improvement that we have. But at the same time, we’ve got to really hone in on the right now and just focus on what we need to do right now.”

Thats it, folks. Thats the one. The most pathetic thing I’ve ever heard an athlete say. I love being bad because then I have room to get better! Who wants to be good??? Then that just means you’re already successful and there’s no room for potential. Like if you just win every single game, there’s really nowhere else to grow. I prefer to lose and that way we can look forward to the future and think “Wont it be great when we’re NOT losing anymore! Won’t it be awesome if I stop throwing atrocious interceptions. Like take last week for example. If I threw the ball 35 times for 3 touchdowns and no picks, then that would probably ruin this week, right? So instead we completely abandoned the forward pass and I handed the ball off 260 times. Now this week, maybe I’ll actually pass it! I can only go up from last week because last week was the most pathetic demoralizing emasculating thing that has ever happened to a starting QB. So thats exciting and its fun to think about. If you just suck all the time, you can always hang your hat on “maybe I wont suck this time” and to me thats exciting stuff.
