#TBT To One Of The Greatest Shows Of All Time

There I was, sitting at my desk, when Brandon fucking Walker came strolling by wearing one of the greatest shirts I've ever seen.

I said, "Brandon, that's the greatest shirt I've ever seen." It was a lovely exchange and one I hope to repeat on a more frequent basis. Anyyyywayyyyy, for those of you who don't know, American Gladiator was the quintessential 90s show. Pure electricity from when it originally aired in 1989 to when its demise in 1996. If you don't believe me just look at the athletes' stage names.

  • Blaze (Sha-ri Pendelton)
  • Gemini (Michael Horton)
  • Hawk (Lee Reherson)
  • Lace (Marisa Pare)
  • Nitro (Dan Clark)
  • Gold (Tonya Knight)
  • Laser (Jim Starr)
  • Thunder (Billy Smith)
  • Ice (Lori Fetrick)
  • Turbo (Galen Tomlinson)
  • Viper (Chuck Berlinger)
  • Diamond (Erika Andersch)
  • Malibu (Darren McBee)
  • Titan (David Nelson)
  • Tower (Steve Henneberry)
  • Sabre (Lynn “Red” Williams)
  • Sunny (Cheryl Barldinger)
  • Zap (Ray Hollitt)
  • Storm (Debbie Clark)
  • Sky (Shirley Eson),
  • Elektra (Salina Bartunek)
  • Siren (Shelley Beattie)
  • Jazz (Victoria Gay)

I used to watch it after Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. The activities were even better- powerball, swingshot, atlaspheres, pryamid, skytrack, hang tough, and of course, under the gun. The last two were my favorites. Especially under the gun which was essentially just lighting someone up with a tennis ball-filled potato gun.

The whole show was awesome, so here are some videos to help get you through the rest of the day. Hang in there, it's almost the weekend.
