Hand up, I roll my eyes when people go absolutely crazy about a player because of how well he worked out in tights one February day in Indianapolis. But when that player is someone that has been linked to my team and does shit that makes my brain leak out of my ears, I really really enjoy it. Friday it was Mekhi Becton running the 40 faster than any 6'7, 364 lb. monster should run it. And Saturday it was Isaiah Simmons measuring out like the absolute freakshow he is.
Now those workouts and fancy Next Gen Stats are nice to look at. But it's the comps both to the other aliens that play NFL football at the highest level that make my eyes bulge out of my head.
Oh so the guy that can play multiple defensive positions extremely well as a 238 pounder is somehow also more athletic than some of the most athletic specimens I have ever seen? That's pretty cool I guess.
And in case you care about more than a player looking good in his underwear, I think Simmons sending this tweet after running a sub-4.4 40 locked him into the Top 5 of my Big Board if not my favorite player of the entire draft.
