Trevor Bauer Is Organizing A Sandlot Baseball Game With Major and Minor League Players Where Everyone Must Be Mic'd Up

Yes, yes, a million times YES! 2020 may have been a motherfucker of a year so far but I don't know it has been pretty fucking good to Trevor Bauer. I don't know if anyone has had a better 2020 than Trevor Bauer. He's watched the Astros become the most hated sports team any of us can remember that will also likely be the most hit-by-pitch team we can ever remember, PECOTA has Bauer's Reds winning the NL Central, and I'm pretty sure Bauer will become every baseball fan's favorite player if he can put together an actual game involving some of the best players on the planet. People won't even get upset if the quality of play is bad because it's the only game in town the entire goddamn country and if you call a baseball game a "sandlot" game, people are okay with it being a little rough around the edges because of the name and they love the movie. Trevor Bauer: Marketing genius.

In fact, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Trevor Bauer should be the new commissioner of baseball. He clearly loves the game more than any of the stooges in suits to hold the position the last few years while being no more disliked than any of those bozo commissioners, is putting mic'd up players as his number 1 priority because he knows it's an awesome part of the game that fans love, would be the first commissioner to get into Twitter battles with people, and he clearly embraces new technology.

Oh yeah and he can throw the fuck out of a baseball. I think every commissioner should have to be able to throw a ball over the centerfield fence.

Once you can no longer make it over the fence, your time as commissioner is over and a search for a new commish begins.

But before we worry about the commissioner job, lets focus on Trevor pickling the coronavirus and getting this sandlot game organized. Remember Trevor, there's heroes and there's legends: Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Follow your heart kid and you can never go wrong.
