Vernon Maxwell Was Under The Impression That His Huge Game 1 Back In The 1994 Playoffs Meant Free Beer For Life

Vernon Maxwell getting Twitter might be one of the more underrated benefits of that entire app. Normally his actions revolve around burning the Utah Jazz and their fans

but yesterday we got a little insight into that dominant Game 1 performance during their magical 1993 playoff run. Who knows what happens if Mad Max doesn't get them off to that good start, his fourth quarter was huge in that 114-104 victory which then quickly became a 4 game sweep of the Blazers. He and Hakeem were a problem combining for 50 points on 18-34 shooting. Maxwell made 5 3PMs and it was simply too much for Clyde Drexler to handle.

To know that he finished that game and was under the impression he was going to have free beer for life because he was the Budweiser Player Of The Game only to have that dream ripped from his hands is a tough break. Huge missed opportunity by Budweiser in my opinion. I'm not exactly sure why Maxwell thought that would be the case but if you ask me he clearly deserved it.

For the youngin's out there that may have no idea who the hell this is, Vernon Maxwell was nice as hell. Do yourself a favor and take a quick trip down memory lane. Dude was a big piece of those Rockets title teams.
