Do The Houston Roughnecks Have A Player Retention Problem?
Huge news this morning and if your a Roughnecks fan I hope your sitting down:
The Carolina Panthers have signed your precious MVP PJ Walker. So much for loyalty I guess.
Well well well not a great day to be one of the DC Defenders hater's who said the Houston Roughnecks were the real XFL champion depsite lagging behind DC in nearly every advanced statistical category. And now theyve lost their MVP most likely due to some combination of toxic culture, poor vision for the future, and the chance to quit before they have to play a first place schedule next year.
This confirms what we all thought all season- the Houston Roughnecks were frauds from day one.
If your working in Houston your more likely to have better job security with Enron or The damn Oilers then you are with the Roughnecks, who at this point are a shell of themselves and would likley be picked to finish last in the XFL West if the season were to start and then get called off again tomorrow. Go ahead try to name a player for Houston Ill wait. They are the early 2000s Florida Marlins of the XFL just a pump and dump scheme created in a touching tribute to Houstons energy market.
PJ Walkers name ironicaly displays how asleep at the wheel Houstons been all season, jumping out to a fast start like the veritble hare who tires himself out too early. Some other recent examples of teams that got off to good starts but lost to turtles include: Duke basketball 2002, and anyone whose ever ran against Mitch McConnell. But until Houston can solve their player personel issues your going to see more and more players like walker running for the exits, and thats sad.
