One of the best regular season games I’ve ever watched live from start to finish.  This one had everything.  Stars playing like stars.  Role players playing their roles to perfection.  X factors stepping up out of nowhere.  Lead change after lead change, an intense overtime.  You hear all the talk and watch all the hype videos before a rivalry game this big but rarely does it actually live up to the noise and then some.

The box score only somewhat shows it but Tokoto DOMINATED that game for UNC.  He was everywhere, getting every loose ball, hitting big shots, making perfect passes.  It’s like you heard his name mentioned every possession.  Yeah he missed that jumper in OT but without him they weren’t even playing an OT.  Brice Johnson played some of his best ball of the season.  Kennedy Meeks is boom or bust most of the time but tonight was an absolute beast.  And UNC did all this with Marcus Paige basically non existent.

Meanwhile on the other side, Tyus Jones was a fucking BALLER.  Singlehandedly carried them at the end.  Tell me I have a must win game to save my life and he’s my first pick for my squad.  (He’s 18 too, by the way).  Okafor is a grown ass man who can’t be stopped in the post (0-6 at the line was flat out unacceptable though).  Quinn Cook was unconscious from deep.  Justice Winslow was all over the place. Jefferson played like 5 minutes and managed to stuff the stat sheet.  No doubt that Cameron rocking gave Duke that little bit of edge and energy they needed at the end when they were out of gas.  Just goes to show how much home crowds matter in college sports, which is what makes them so awesome.

Love both these teams come tourney time.

Just wish Dickie V was there to see it.
