Luka Garza Declares For The NBA Draft While Still Maintaining His Eligibility
Here's what I'll say about this Luka Garza news, I want the best for Luka Garza because I love Luka Garza. He has been such a goddamn bright spot for the Iowa Hawkeyes these last couple of years that you cannot call yourself a true Hawkeye fan if you don't want the best for Luka Garza. It's been such a joy watching him play during his Hawkeye career and it makes me incredibly sad to think it might be over. But if that's how it is then I'm okay with it. Get that money and achieve those lifelong dreams.
But with all that said, I would also fucking love for Luka Garza to play his senior season at Iowa because Iowa will be a PROBLEM if he does. A serious serious problem. We're talking about a legit contender for the B1G title and a legit top-10 team all year. Luka won a bunch of awards and accolades this season but just imagine the hardware he could bring home next season. What I'm saying is he was robbed of winning National Player of the Year this season, why not take another crack at it? Not to mention it'd absolutely be the best team Fran McCafferry's has coached at Iowa during his decade in Iowa City. The team is gonna be rock solid across the board and guess what? Sharp shooter Jordan Bohannon will be back. Next year could be a special one if everything works out.
Again, I want the best for Luka Garza, and if that means foregoing his senior season becoming an NBA player, fine. So be it. But if it means him coming back and playing his final season at Carver Hawkeye Area with a GREAT chance of making some serious noise on a national level, I'm all for that too.
