Dan Shaugnnessy From Your Boston Globe Mocks Patriot Fans For Having Blind Faith In Belichick

(The Biggest Troll of Them All)

Boston.com – Here in New England, it’s great to be the Patriots. They win Super Bowls. They sell out all of their games. They dominate the airwaves. And they enjoy unanimous support of a region that’s downright . . . collegiate. Really.

Revis is not here because the Patriots would not pay him what the Jets would pay him. Please don’t try to make it something else. That’s what the Krafts and the Patriots always do. Winning is never enough. They have to be more special and smarter than the competition. The need to be loved and admired for “The Patriot Way.’’

It would be nice to hear from the Patriots’ bosses on the Revis topic, but they do not speak to us during this crucial time on the NFL calendar. I.’m told that Belichick will next be available to the media sometime around March 22 (owners meetings in Phoenix).

At the very least, the ever-needy Patriots owner should be accountable. Nobody loves the parades, the CBS-stroking, and the fashion show photo-ops more than Bob Kraft. So where is he when the Patriots won’t pay for their best defensive player? Why is the decision to bow out on Revis positioned as a Belichick decision? I don’t believe it.  I wonder if Belichick — left to his own judgment — would have paid Revis. If it were up to the coach, why not trigger the 2015 option and swallow the cap poison ($25 million) that comes with it? But they don’t need to explain themselves because their blissful fans will say it for them.

If New England signed Revis it would have been a stroke of genius. But since it opted not to commit $39 million, it’s also genius.

Lexington, Mass., is no different than Lexington, Ky. Unconditional love.

Yahoo.

This is the one of the most unreal yet predictable article of all time from Shank.  This is what happens when old useless sports writers who hate the local teams have nothing to write about.  When they try to criticize a team that has forced every cynic and naysayer to eat crow time and time again.  You get nonsensical clickbait articles grasping at straws.  Dan Shaughnessy literally complaining that fans don’t criticize anything the Patriots do.  That we are all just happy go lucky fools with unfounded blind faith in Belichick.  That we are some type of lunatic fanbase that has lost our grip on reality.   This sentence right here sums it up.

The Patriots don’t need to explain themselves because their blissful fans will say it for them. If New England signed Revis it would have been a stroke of genius. But since it opted not to commit $39 million, it’s also genius.

That’s exactly it Dan.  Whatever decision Belichick and the Pats made with Revis or Browner or anybody is always the right decision.  That’s not my opinion. That’s a scientific fact.  Just like saying it will get dark out tonight.  But that doesn’t make me or anybody else a Yahoo..  It makes us smart.  The fact I’m even having to explain this right now is bizarro world.  How many Superbowls do we have to win?  How many AFC East titles do we need?  I mean basically everything Belichick has done for the past 15 years has been the right move.  Bledsoe, Ty Law, Lawyer Malloy, Willie McGinist, Logan Mankins etc. The Patriots don’t need people to think they are special or smarter than everybody else.  They don’t cut or trade players because they are arrogant. They don’t need to force feed “The Patriot Way” down our throats as guys like Shank love to say they do.  They ARE smarter than everybody else.  Belichick is the smartest guy in the room. You don’t become the greatest franchise in the history of sports by screwing this shit up.  You do it by knowing exactly how much players are worth and not paying a penny more.  If you don’t think Belichick has earned our blind faith than you don’t deserve to breath the same air I do.

PS – How about Shank wondering if Kraft didn’t let Belichick do what he wanted to in regards to Revis?  Maybe the dumbest thing I’ve ever read in my life.  Even dumber than him comparing the Revis (salary cap) situation to the Lester (non salary cap) deal.
