Weekend Wake Up: The 2002 NFL Quarterback Challenge

How do we bring these back? Who do I have to write to and demand we get back the Quarterback Challenge? Whatever needs to be done, I'll do it. If you've ever turned on NFL Network on a Saturday morning in the summer, chances are you've seen these. Or if you're over the age of 25, you saw them when they actually aired them. Regardless, they were great to watch. It wasn't like we saw JP Losman, or Jeff George or some bums like that sling it around, they gave us the best of the best. 2002 featured Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Jeff Garcia, Doug Flutie, Jake Plummer, and Aaron Brooks. Obviously Peyton and Tom are 2 of the top 4 QBs ever, but the rest of those guys weren't too bad either. Long throw was always great, the obstacle courses they had to navigate were awesome too. Just some simple stuff that the guys could do and get a sweat going. Now you wouldn't be able to have any big name guys going because they'd all be terrified to tear up their knee. Also insane that Brady competed in this, came in dead last, and is still in the league. I drool over a day we could see guys like Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and definitely not Mitchell Trubisky perform in something like this. At least we can dream. These were always great to watch, tons of star power and some awesome events.
