Today In Wild, Out Of Nowhere News: Steve Nash - Who Is 100% Not Gregg Popovich - Is Hired To Be The Nets Head Coach

Listen, most coaching hires you can kind of see coming. Everyone knew Thibs was going to the Knicks. There's always a short list of candidates that you can guess between 3-4. This? No one fucking saw Steve Nash becoming the head coach of the Nets. You know Steve Nash:

- the soccer analyst

- the owner of GEM Saloon

- the guy who was on Entourage

- oh, also this guy:

He's also the same Steve Nash that worked with Kevin Durant in Golden State. He was a player development consultant for them and spent a lot of time working with Durant on his game. So there's that connection. But he has no coaching experience outside of that. He's also a guy who doesn't really deal with bullshit, especially when you hear stories about him and short temper for bullshit. That's why him and Kyrie together is going to be FASCINATING. You have this all-time point guard in Nash working with an All-Star point guard in Kyrie. Kyrie is a lunatic and now has a first-time ever coach. I have no idea how that's going to work - I assume it's mostly Durant pitching it.

On the other hand, remember how delusional Nets fans were thinking they were getting Gregg Popovich? Bunch of dummies they are. There was 0 chance Pop was leaving to deal with Kyrie at 71 and more leaning towards retirement than that. It was cute (I assume this every fan base watching Knicks fans) watching them get their hopes up and convince the greatest coach in the NBA was coming to the Nets.

Either way, Steve Nash is now a head coach. What a weird ass morning.

PS: Remember the last all-time point guard to coach the Nets with a team that was supposed to be loaded? How'd that turn out?
