'Twas The Night Before NFL Kickoff
Twas the night before kickoff, across the USA.
Every fan gone to bed, ready for gameday;
The stadiums will be empty, no one in the stands
With hopes to avoid all fans slapping hands;
We’ll still rep our team with ultimate pride,
While anxiously waiting for the Collinsworth slide;
Glued to the screens on our TV and phone,
Cuz the best time of the week is watching Redzone;
Your wife will be mad the clothes are still in the dryer,
You were too busy checking the waiver wire;
All chores stop and never get done,
Especially when your team has come back and won;
We’ll watch and we’ll scream and hopefully cheer,
All while downing a case of ice cold beer;
There’s so many questions, so much to debate,
Heading into the year, what will be my team’s fate?
Will the Chiefs and Mahomes do it again?
Will the walking boot be back for Ol’ Big Ben?
Will the Bears be happy going with Mitch?
Or will Big Dick Nick make him his bitch?
Will the Patriots miss the GOAT Tom Brady?
If so will Belichick have to do something shady?
Will Brady and Gronk bring back Tampa Bay?
Or will Raymond James Stadium stay gloomy and gray?
Can Joe Burrow have one of the best rookie years?
If not there will be more Bengal tears;
Will Baker be good and Cleveland be lit?
Or will Odell have another year eating shit?
No matter what the question, concern, or care,
We all hope our teams hoist the Lombardi In the air;
And if they don’t, and your dreams get sacked,
Tonight we can rejoice, because football is back;
It's the time of year when everything feels right,
Happy kickoff to all, and to all a goodnight
