Rapid Reaction: Jaguars Stun The Colts In Biggest Weekend Upset
What a game, folks. I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t expect our beloved Jaguars to pull this one out. I thought this game would lead to pregnancy in that regard. The Colts have one of if not the best offensive lines in football, a talented backfield, and they also finally have compliments to TY at WO.
The Jaguars, on the other hand, saw Calais Campbell get traded to the Ravens, Yannick banished to Minnesota, and Leonard Fournette cut like the cheese at a 10-year-old boy’s birthday party.
I was surprised at the play of several rookies. Chris Henderson was a STUD. He had an int and lead the league with four pass breakups and got high praise on Baldys Breakdowns which is kinda like the Twitter football version of the Takies. Incredible.
Rookie undrafted running back James Robinson had a great day as well including a play that made me stand up on my feet in the comfort of my own home. It’s a shame we don’t have any Illinois State alums on staff to get a full appreciation of his career arc. Nevertheless-
What should have been a 5 yard gain (and would have been with Leonard because he’d lower his head proving how tough he is before turning an ankle), turns into a 25 yard gain and gave real life to the team during the witching hour.
It was also easy to see why Jay Gruden was so respected as an OC before his head coaching stint in Washington. The route concepts were just different on Sunday from anything we’ve seen in Jacksonville for a long time. Gardner was on time, steady in the pocket, and is the clear-cut leader and face of the team. I fucking love it.
Hope- its not just the city Bill Clinton is from anymore. We’re on to Tennessee.
