Pardon My Take's Football Guys of the Week Nominees - Week 2
Another great weekend of football is in the books. And with that, we have another quartet of Football Guys of the Week vying for the prestigious prize. Let's see who are nominees are for Week 2.
Syracuse QB Rex Culpepper - Threw his first TD of his career (69 yards) after being declared cancer-free in 2018, going through 100 hours of chemotherapy.
Feel good stories will always make their way to the weekly poll. Rex Culpepper has been through A LOT since his career at Syracuse began, but the fact that he threw his first career touchdown in style for the Orange is great to see. A bright spot in a tough start to the season so far for SU.
Parents of High School QB Jake Garcia - Had to legally separate in order for their son to be eligible to play after transferring.
It's our first ever edition of football PARENTS of the week! What a great move to ensure that their son would become eligible. Family first.
Colts owner Jim Irsay - Gave a motivational speech on Twitter while standing over a bench press.
I think the most amazing part of this is that Jim Irsay does not even attempt to make an effort at the bench. Just plainly using it as a prop. Football guy through and through.
Desmond Pulliam - HS senior in Texas with autism spectrum disorder who scored his first career TD in a rivalry game.
Another great moment. Talk about showing true grit through some tough circumstances. This was an awesome sight in the midst of an awful year.
