"I'm Tired Of Being The Nice Guy"--Brian Kelly. The Entire ACC Has Been Put On Notice
If I am being honest I should've blogged this on Saturday. That's on me. However...when I was scrolling back through my twitter and I stumbled on it again I got JUST as fired up as I did when I heard it the first time. Brian Kelly and Notre Dame are out for blood this year. They've blown teams out before. We saw it last year against New Mexico and Bowling Green. Those games somehow felt more competitive than the game against South Florida on Saturday. Brian Kelly wanted the shutout. He wanted to run it up. He wanted to make a statement. And.. he did. That is BAD news for the ACC. This group has had 10+ wins in four of the last 5 years. They're easily a top 10 program in the country. It's been that way for some time now. That is NOT good enough. That is not what Notre Dame is all about it. The Irish need to be hanging banners to really appease the faithful. They've been knocking on the door, but it's clear that they're in a tier just below Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson. This type of attitude is what will push the Irish forward. A fuck you attitude. An attitude that asks
Who's the bad guy! It's Brian Kelly. Everyone loves to hate him. Both inside Notre Dame and outside. Not me. He's best ND coach of my lifetime. There's nobody out there better equipped for the job. He took a program that lost at home to fucking UConn and turned them into a perennial playoff contender and now he wants the Irish to be a National Championship contender. The ACC will have a team in the playoff. It won't be Clemson. This is a new attitude for a new day. A day when the Irish are once again #1. Can't fucking wait for Saturday. Bad day to be a Demon Deacon.
