The Teaser Trailer for Borat 2 Has Arrived to Save Us All
On behalf of America I'd like to thank the Republic of Kazakhstan Twitter account and the makers of "Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan" for declaring a winner of last night's debate 45 minutes before it started. And for giving us the thing we need now more than ever but are no longer getting from our cultural institutions.
Satire. Parody. Spoof. Farce. Caricature. Ridicule. It can be the highest form of art and exactly what the human race needs in times of chaos. From the earliest political cartoons to the Three Stooges turning Nazi Germany into a joke years before America entered the war. At its peak, SNL did it better than anyone, but abandoned that a long time ago in favor of skits and Weekend Update jokes that haven't landed in since the early 2000s.
So no matter where you are on the philosophical/political spectrum, who you're voting for or how many times you're voting, if you have an ounce of humanity and any respect for comedy, you've got to respect Sasha Baron Cohen for pulling off this character yet again. We don't want this right now. We need it. It makes up for the fact we'll all have to re-listen to all the bad Borat impressions we thought were behind us for good. Brace yourself for the interminable catchphrases repeated ad nauseum. But it'll be worth it.
