Wisconsin Football's COVID Issues Have Only Gotten Worse

Last week, the big news in the college football world was Graham Mertz testing positive for COVID, which was then followed by the news that the Wisconsin-Nebraska game was canceled. That then led to the official Nebraska athletics Twitter account to weirdly call out Wisconsin canceling their game on a sponsored tweet for Runza's:

Wisconsin was scheduled to take on Purdue this weekend, but that game has been canceled:

That is now 2 games down for Wisconsin thanks to 27 cases since October 24th.

The Big Ten has only 8 games on their schedule for this season, so Wisconsin is down to 6. Nebraska and Purdue are down to 7. This has CFP implications for Wisconsin obviously, but massive Big Ten West implications for others. Right now Purdue and Northwestern are both undefeated. What will happen if Wisconsin comes back, wins out, and Purdue wins out as well? Or a 1-loss Purdue, Northwestern and Wisconsin? I was typing out "I'm sure the Big Ten planned for this" but stopped myself because I realized there is a massive chance they in fact did not plan for this.

TO the surprise to nobody we are in the midst of a really weird season. Hopefully, Wisconsin can figure their COVID issues out and get back to playing next weekend against Michigan.
