OH MY GOD - SLAM KO IN THE VERY FIRST ROUND!
HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!
Jordan "The Monkey King" Leavitt just OBLITERATED an absolute veteran in Matt Wiman in the opening moments of their fight just now on the UFC prelims - and he didn't even have to throw a strike to get the knockout!
My Live Reaction:
They just engaged in the center of the octagon, Wiman immediately pulled guard, and Leavitt fucking slammed him into the core of the earth. He actually did something really crafty in the middle of the slam, as well, where he placed his forearm across Wiman's collarbone/jaw to ensure his head would hit the canvas. Vicious? Yes. Smart, tho? Uhhh - ya think? He got the win, didn't he?
"The Monkey King" showed great restraint afterwards, as well, immediately realizing Wiman was out and not throwing any ground-and-pound shots.
Watching Twitter explode after this one was pretty funny, because you had two very polarizing sides: those who were extremely concerned for Wiman immediately afterwards (justifiably so)….
….and then there were those who couldn't help but have a laugh and point out the (seemingly) simple defense to that one:
Hindsight is 20/20 tho, eh?!
Afterwards, Leavitt hit a 'Dirty Dancing' celebration right in Wiman's face, which has gotta be almost as tough as getting KO'd like that….
Pretty fucking nuts overall, tho! This has gotta be the first KO in UFC history where no strikes were thrown!
Shoutout to Jordan Leavitt and best wishes to Wiman on a speedy recovery!
