We're Getting One Step Closer To Going Full Fishbowl In The NHL
FINLAND - When the Finnish Hockey League returns from its break caused by corona restrictions, at least one thing has changed.
Arto I. Järvelä, the competition director of the Finnish Champions League, confirmed on Thursday night that a full visor was imposed on the league in order to reduce the risk of corona infections.
- We've been working on this since the summer. Discussions have taken place with the players' association, and when the situation has become challenging as the autumn has progressed and infections have become, we made this solution, Järvelä told Ilta-Sanomat.
So the Finnish league has already made the move to switch over to full face shields for the remainder of the season since those science dorks have been taking their sweet ass time on this vaccine. The Finnish league definitely doesn't have NHL money and the latest reports are that the NHL is looking to purchase a private vaccine for the whole league. But since nothing this year has gone according to plan, let's just say that doesn't end up working out.
Now I want the NHL back in our lives just as much as anybody else. In fact, I probably want it even more. Because if there's one team who can really take advantage of this shortened season thanks to being an extremely tight team with a ton of young talent mixed with veteran leadership, it's the Philadelphia Flyers.
With the current state of the world, however, we all need to make a few sacrifices here and there for the greater good. So if NHL players need to sacrifice the ability to wear a half shield during games, and instead have to go full fishbowl in order to reduce the spread of corona once the season gets going? Well not only do I think that's a reasonable sacrifice to make, but there is so much style potential here as well.
You have the generic fishbowl.
You've got the half visor, half cage look like those old Xcel shields.
You have whatever in the fricking heck this thing is.

Maybe throw a few tint inserts in there, who knows. Let's get crazy, let's get wild. It's Fishbowl SZN.
