Rest In Peace Celtics Legend KC Jones
While he might not be a household name like some other Celtics legends, make no mistake about it. KC Jones was THAT dude. His six Game 7 wins are tied for the most all time. If he played in 2020, he would be a cult hero. It's a shame there was no All NBA defense back when he played because he was basically Marcus Smart on steroids. An 8x champ for the Celts as a player and then three more as a coach, the man was a flat out winner. He was 8-0 in the NBA Finals. A true icon any way you want to slice it for this franchise.
As a coach he was 308-102 with the Celts, and had a 522-252 overall record. He was good even before he got that stacked Celts team of the 80s, taking the 1974-75 Bullets to the NBA Finals as well. I just got off the phone with my Dad to tell him and he let me know KC Jones also had a tremendous singing voice, so there's that too. You bring up the name KC Jones to any old timer Celtics fan and you'll get an idea of what a huge player/person he was for this franchise and really the development of the NBA as a whole.
One of the best Celtics to ever do it, we'll probably never see a guy be part of so many titles both as a player and coach again. RIPIP to an absolute legend
