Elizabeth Olsen Says WandaVision Will Have Its Own Stunning 'Luke Skywalker' Type Moment By The End Of The Series
In a recent interview with TV Line, Elizabeth Olsen was asked if WandaVision would have its own 'Luke Skywalker on The Mandalorian' moment, to which she immediately replied, "Yes!" - and said that it was something she was, "really excited for fans to see soon".
Before we even get into that, let's all watch Luke Skywalker's Mandalorian cameo together again....
God, that was so great. Now - back to the story!
In my eyes, that was a bit of a loaded question by the interviewer, and a tough one for the star of the show she's promoting to NOT give an overly-enthusiastic answer to....but Elizabeth Olsen IS a huge Star Wars fan, and I do think she understands just how big that cameo was for the fanbase, so maybe there's a chance she's NOT overselling this?
Even Paul Bettany teased that he got to film some 'intense scenes' with an actor he's "always wanted to work with" towards the end of the series (with our very own Lights Camera Barstool)….
….so I'm pretty damn hopeful that Marvel is about to blow all of our minds in the coming weeks! Timidly hopeful - as not to be let down - but hopeful nonetheless!
Here's my personal suspect/wishlist as of this moment….
Magneto (Sir Ian McKellen or Michael Fassbender?)
Magneto, for those unaware, was shockingly revealed by Marvel Comics as Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver's father in the 1980's, giving him a deeeeep rooted connection to Wanda. He's also one of the only characters that would fit the "on par with Luke Skywalker" description in my mind.
Obviously, the MCU hasn't featured (or even alluded to) this relationship yet, but if WandaVision truly is going to serve as the introduction of mutants (or expansion of the multiverse) to this world, Magneto would be a hell of a one to kick the doors down with a bang.
I'd love to see Ian McKellen back in that role, even if only for one more performance, but I'd definitely mark out for Fassbender as well. He proved himself a very worthy successor to McKellen in even the worst of X-Men movies….
It could be someone entirely new, as well, like the forever fan-cast Bryan Cranston.
Professor X (Sir Patrick Stewart or James McAvoy?)
Another character I believe fits the "on par with Luke Skywalker" description is Professor X, but it reeeaaally only fits if Sir Patrick Stewart is back in the roll. Get it?
Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)
We know Wanda is going to be a major player in 'Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness', so it's entirely possible that Cumberbatch is comin into Westview to set that up towards the end of this series.
I don't believe Strange and Vision have ever been in the same place at the same time, allowing for Bettany's end of the tease to hold up, but would his involvement be worth hype of this level?! Personally, I don't think so. Sorry Benny. You ain't no Luke Skywalker.
Thanos (Josh Brolin)
Here's a guy who both actors have obviously worked with in the past, but maybe Bettany gets some long conversation/monologue with Grimace this time, rather than just getting his head ripped outta his head?
Something like his final scene with Ultron, maybe inside the Mind Stone somehow?
Again, not 'Skywalker' worthy, but it'd be pretty cool.
Wolverine (Hugh Jackman or possibly someone new?)
Here's a random one, and I can't see this happening, but it'd certainly be a BIG reveal/cameo, so is it a possibility?
Could Wanda rip the multiverse open in a fit of rage, and somehow leave Wolverine as the first mutant to peek his head into Earth-616 here? Maybe they could reveal who the new MCU Logan will be via that debut? I dunno. Probably not.
Spider-Man (Tom Holland? Andrew Garfield? Tobey Maguire?)
I believe Spider-Man is also scheduled to appear in 'Doctor Strange and the MoM' (which is directed by Sam Raimi, who famously did the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy) - so maybe our friendly neighborhood Spidey is headed to Westview?!
I mean, Tobey would be pretty nuts! I don't think it lines up/makes sense here, but that'd be some mind-blowing multiverse shit! No denying that!
Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson or Evan Peters?)
What about Pietro?! He was just referenced on the show, right?!

Being WandaVision seems to be focusing in on Wanda's past trauma so heavily, I could absolutely see her dead ass brother making his return. I've even seen the rumors that it could be Evan Peters from the 20th Century Fox X-Men universe coming in to play the character here, which opens up that multiverse door and makes things even more interesting as well.
I'd definitely prefer to see Evan Peters back over Aaron Taylor-Johnson personally, just based on his awesome portrayal of that character, and I DO think we'll see at least one of them before the series is over - but I don't think that's who this tease is referencing.
This sounds like someone much bigger.
Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr)
I've seen some speculation about these guys, and I'm putting them in the same category, because while they'd both be huge cameos, it's not like Paul Bettany is gonna tease this surprise as 'an actor he's been dying to work with forever' if it's one of these guys.
I'm pretty confident they're not comin back here.
Luke Skywalker is actually Mephisto (Mephisto played by Mark Hamill)
This is my favorite theory yet.
What if this cameo was called its own 'Luke Skywalker' moment because it's literally a 'Luke Skywalker' moment, with Mark Hamill entering the fold as the Marvel demon 'Mephisto'?!
It ain't like Mark hasn't NAILED the role of an iconic comic book villain before….
….and we still don't know who could've been cast as the next rumored big bad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so who knows! It's all in the Disney family!
