Jalen Hurts Continues To Be One Of The Best Dudes In The NFL, Donates $30K To Alex's Lemonade Stand For A Local Family In Need
Okay so right off the bat I just want to say that I know Jalen Hurts didn't make this donation for the headlines. I almost feel bad about writing this blog because he most likely would have been just as happy to help out the Carter family without anybody ever knowing about it. But this is a gesture that is way too powerful to go unnoticed.
Just in case anyone is unaware, Alex's Lemonade Stand is a foundation whose mission is "to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer". And when you're talking about changing the lives of children with cancer, something like what Jalen Hurts was able to do for this family has such a major impact that'll not only change Erick's life, but the entire family's.
And what I think is just as impactful as the monetary value of the donation is just how much Jalen Hurts genuinely seems to care for Erick and the family. He didn't just drop by to get a photoshoot with the check. He stayed to have a toss. He built Erick up talking about how the rest of the Eagles would love someone as strong and courageous as him. Just some really awesome stuff out of Jalen that tells you everything you need to know about the man's character. And I think that's exactly what the Eagles knew they'd be getting out of Jalen Hurts when they drafted him. He's a pretty damn good football player, for sure. But he's an even better man and leader. And now a kid like Erick gets to have someone of that caliber in his life forever. Love to see stuff like that.
Sidenote: That Kobe jacket is tough.
