Maize & Blue Deli (MBD) is a family owned/ operated business. MBD has proudly served the Ann Arbor area since 1988. We have been providing the best deli sandwiches and the best memories to many of the students here. The family business has been experiencing major finical issues due to the cities local guidance (no dining) and the simple fact that students are being forced to self quarantine. The students factor for sixty percent of our revenue! COVID has really taken a hit on us. All of the employees consist of our family and none of us have received a paycheck so we can keep the lights on. We are struggling with keeping up with rent, inventory and payroll. It was really hard for us to make the decision to apply for this application but we are running out of time. This is more than a business to my family it is our home and we all have literally put blood, sweat and tears. We have had great memories with all of the MICHIGAN legends whether it was Brady spending his mornings with my father or if it was with Michael Phelps eating four of his favorite sandwiches in the office. We are praying to make it through these hard times and we are also prepared for worst case.
