What Goes Through Leonard Fournette’s Mind When Tom Brady Sends Him a Text Telling Him the Bucs Are Going To Win the Super Bowl?

On today's Pardon My Take, Buccaneers RB Leonard Fournette joined the show for the second time in as many months. Call him what you want, Playoff Lenny, Super Bowl Lenny, Lombardi Lenny, etc., but it has been great to see the LSU product's NFL career go in this direction since he joined Tampa Bay.

One name I may have left out is Barstool Lenny, and we are officially locking in some extra credibility to that one right now. As Mr. Commenter said during the interview, Fournette is going to start blogging for this website (sort of). Any time he tweets a thread, we are going to embed his tweets on the blog. We are excited to see what offseason stories he has in store and for the Stoolies to read about them.

Speaking of great stories, Fournette gave us his thoughts on that Tom Brady text that went on before the Super Bowl. What was the deal with that?

Mr. Cat: What about the text message you got the week leading up? Just Tom Brady, it basically came out that he was texting the entire team saying, "We're gonna win." When you get that text message, I'd imagine that helps the confidence and helps you feel like, hey, we're actually going to do something here. A guy texting you with six Super Bowls saying, "We're gonna win."

Leonard Fournette: Yeah, so just going to work, it would be 5:30 in the morning, he's the first person up, he leads by example, that's who he is. And he was just telling us, "We will win this game. You know, our hard work that we were doing throughout the week, he made sure that we all did it and it just shows you. a different side of him. 

Leonard Fournette: You know what I mean, you don't get that too much. To witness greatness up close like that, it was crazy moments like that. Sometimes, I'll be in the backfield, and I looked to thee side, this is probably during a play, I'll be like, "Damn, I'm really playing with fucking Tom Brady. This is crazy!" You know what I mean?

If the GOAT texts you that you are going to win, you better freaking win. And that is exactly what Leonard Fournette and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did in the Super Bowl, in convincing fashion. You love to see it.
