Terry Bradshaw Continues to Show No Mercy to 'Coddled' Aaron Rodgers and His Terrible Footwork

Yesterday I posted about Aaron Rodgers getting mercilessly savaged by one of the great winners in NFL history:

And if you thought Terry Bradshaw would be satisfied with calling Rodgers "weak," saying the Packers should call his bluff, "Let him gripe. Let him cry," call him "weak" twice more and then walk off the Friar's Club dias and let the next roaster take a turn, you've got another thing coming.

One more stop on the "Terry Hates Aaron Tour 2021" and he can sell shirts with the cities and dates on the back. Bradshaw is so aroused by his resentment of Rodgers, I'd say he could be promoting it as an ED treatment, if that wasn't being ageist and I didn't have so much respect for what he's accomplished. When a guy quarterbacked Louisiana Tech back in the late '60s, gets drafted No. 1, plays 14 years at a time when viciously launching yourself at a QB's head was the way you got pay raises, won four Super Bowls, and is holding down one of the sweetest jobs in broadcasting at the age of 72, he's earned the right to put his opinions out there, no matter how brutal they may be.

And to echo what I said yesterday, whatever you might think about Rodgers, you've got to admire Bradshaw for his willingness to throw haymaker after haymaker like this. Imagine asking a guy who had a career like Bradshaw's, who has been retired for almost 40 years, to wrap his brain around a player talking about paying back $44 million in salary and bonuses, just because he doesn't like his general manager. A guy whose team just went 13-3 and hosted their conference championship game. Even if you disagree with him. Even if you might think it's a cheapshot and unfair. You have to concede it's refreshing in this day and age of pulled punches, muted criticism and carefully chosen words from all the NFL's "broadcast partners" to hear an NFL legend letting it fly.

I'm guessing the one unforgivable thing Bradshaw mentions is that thing about, "the worst footwork I've ever seen for a starting quarterback." Now that is cold, coming from a fellow QB. I don't know for sure, but I assume that among that fraternity of guys, you can rip a guy for his integrity, his guts, his toughness, his grace under pressure, even his family. But dragging him for his mechanics is a line you simply do not cross. Some things have to remain sacred. And "the worst I've ever seen"? How harsh can you get? I never heard that said about Tim Tebow. And he was so bad in preseason when he was with the Patriots, I found myself questioning if he's really left handed. So to say ARod is worse than him? Diabolical.

Worse still, he doubles down with that dig about "Jeopardy!" at the end. This time it's personal. And we cannot get Rodgers in front of a microphone to answer back soon enough. If Fox is smart, they'll line up an interview between these two as soon as possible, because it's great theater. This means war. And if it keeps up, it could be the kind where we all win.
