The Warriors Have A Rookie Named Jonathan Kuminga. Warriors Fans Have Nicknamed Him "The Kum Bucket".

That's it. That's now his nickname for life. The best nicknames are the ones that organically grow. At once point, someone tweeted "Kum Bucket" and next thing you know, the entire fan base is in love with the Kum Bucket. They won't be able to ignore it in the Bay. We're not just talking social media, we're talking t-shirts, chants at the game, phone calls into sports talk radio. Will they censor "Kum Bucket" on the radio? I mean, it is his nickname afterall. It's akin to when people named "Richard" are called "Dick". It's all context. Jonathan Kuminga simply is Kum Bucket. 

Or who knows, maybe it will be one of those things that gets so incredible overused on Twitter that it stops being funny. Like Florida Man and saying "nice" when the score is 69-69. I could see Kum Bucket going that way as well. Like, how many times until we get tired of hearing "The Kum Bucket finishes at the rim". Funny now though, so even if it eventually gets way too annoying, it will always be the best nickname in sports, even if only for today.
