The Jaguars Have Sadly Released Tim Tebow

Damn. It was a good effort by Tim Tebow (I think). To come back into the league at 34 years old after not playing since 2012 was never going to be easy. Switching positions at 34 years old after never playing TE was never going to be easy. And as it turns out, none of it was easy. Urban Meyer made the obvious, albeit I'm sure tough, move to cut him today. Obviously it was the right decision after he could not even block 4th stringers in a preseason game, but there's something weirdly sentimentally sad about Tebow being cut. I mean, he is one of the best college QBs we'll ever see. A cultural phenomenon. Won that playoff game with the Broncos. Was rich as fuck and still grinding the minor league baseball circuit, riding buses and eating crackers for dinner. So I always find myself rooting for him.

Tebow can now sign another huge TV deal and make a ton of money working every Saturday for whatever network he wants. Not a bad backup plan, I suppose.
