Can I Survive Football Season Without Punching Steven Cheah?

Steven Cheah and I are the new hosts of Fantasy Football Factory Podcast. We are honored that Hank Lockwood has shown faith in us and we are not going to let him down. Nick Turani, Rone and Hank are big shoes to fill but we are up to the challenge. I am impressed with Steven’s vast NFL knowledge and have high hopes. The first episode came out on Tuesday and you can check it out on Apple and Spotify.

Cheah and I are natural rivals at Barstool due to our NFL fandoms. Cheah is a Tampa Bay Bucs super fan and I am a diehard New Orleans Saints supporter. They battle in the the NFC South and Tampa knocked the Saints out of the playoffs on their way to the Super Bowl in January. Former Bucs QB Jameis Winston also looks to be the frontrunner for the Saints QB job this fall. 

About a week after I moved to New York to work in the office, we had a live stream for the Sunday night Saints/Bucs game with Cheah and me. The Saints beat the everliving hell out of Tampa that night 38-3. I made a huge mistake on this stream being too nice to Cheah. This was the first time we had formally met and the Saints beat Tampa so bad that I almost felt sorry for him. Dave Portnoy got on me the next day today about not going harder at him too. Little did I know how much I would regret this at the time.

Fast forward a few months to the NFL Playoffs Divisional Round. Cheah and I were back on a stream in the office for the Bucs/Saints with Dave. The Saints led 20-10 in the 3rd quarter and were driving until TE Jared Cook fumbled. The entire game flipped and the Bucs won 30-20 retiring Drew Brees on their way to the Super Bowl. I am still crushed about this loss as I write about it 7 months later.

I am a pretty hard guy to rattle but something about Steven Cheah’s personality gets under my skin in the worst way. He is like the nerdy guy who knows how to press the right buttons to set me off. I cannot point a finger at what it is he does exactly but it is effective. He also hates the 4 time defending NFC South Champ New Orleans Saints with a passion.

Can I survive this fall without snapping on him? Only time will tell.
