People Talking About How The Big East Should Add Gonzaga - A School In WASHINGTON - Is One Of The Dumbest Ideas Out There

Let me set the record straight. There's absolutely no reason for Gonzaga to join the Big East or the Big East to add Gonzaga. It makes zero sense. It's one of the dumbest things out there. College sports are starting to freak out about travel and how far conference geography is getting, so, yeah, let's go ahead and add a school in Spokane, Washington to the Big East. Shit the Big East doesn't even make sense with Creighton, Xavier, Marquette and Butler, which is not East.

And yeah I said Gonzaga doesn't need the Big East. In fact there's no reason for them to leave the WCC. Why would they? It's not stopping them from getting 1 seeds. They've made two titles games and were a bad call/Nigel Williams-Goss bum ankle away from winning a title. The notion that them playing in the WCC hurts them is just false. It would hurt them if they couldn't get a 1 seed and were capped out at like a 4 seed. But that's not the case.

I don't even want the Big East to expand. They have the perfect setup. 11 teams, round robin schedule so we get to see everyone play home and away and we get a true regular season champ. None of this unbalanced schedules and bullshit. It's not really worth adding another program. The Big East has been picking markets that they only have one school. That's why they added Xavier, Butler and Creighton. It's not like there's a program out there that Big East desperately needs. The conference is fine. I mean the conference was awesome back in the 90s, but it's fine now. The only schools that make sense in a potential expansion would be Dayton, VCU, Wichita State or St. Louis. Even then, Dayton is the same market as Xavier, which we've seen the Big East avoid. It's why I can't see St. Joe's or Temple being added.

I know it's old man yelling at the cloud, but can we just get the old Big East back? Can we get the 9 team ACC back? I don't ask for much, but I'm starting to get pretty damn sick of dumbass conference realignment ideas.
