Nikola Jokic Went Into Miami And Dominated The Heat And Then Buried Their Fans Postgame

Last night we saw Nikola Jokic finally return to the Nuggets lineup and it just so happen to come against the Miami Heat. We all remember what happened the last time these two teams played so it was awesome that Jokic was able to be back for it. Unfortunately, Jimmy Butler missed the game with a tailbone contusion and Markief Morris is still out since the incident, but the Jokic brothers certainly weren't going to miss this game just in case

But back to Jokic. He's obviously public enemy #1 in Miami and he was booed every time he touched the ball. They weren't particularly loud boos which was kind of embarrassing for Heat fans since everyone was so worked up about what happened the last time these two played. Where's the fire? Where's the passion? This was your one chance and I have to say it did not live up to the hype. Even worse for Heat fans was the fact that those boos didn't do a damn thing when it came to getting Jokic off his game. To put it simply, he dominated

24/15/7 on 9-14 shooting in a relatively easy blowout win. The Nuggets had lost their previous 6 in a row, are decimated by season ending injuries to a bunch of rotation players, and yet still as long as they have Jokic they'll be fine. Some say maybe the Nuggets should just tank, but it's impossible to tank when you have Jokic available and playing. He's too good. Not just in terms of his individual talent but what he does for everyone else he plays with.

So after kicking the shit out of the Heat, he was asked what it was like to play under those boos from the Miami crowd, and his answer was perfect

I imagine Jokic and his brothers had a mighty laugh about this after the game. Imagine thinking some booing from bandwagon Heat fans was going to get in Jokic's head? Nobody is afraid of the Heat fanbase, certainly not an MVP who comes from fucking Serbia where shit like this happens on the regular

You think some scattered boos in the FTX Arena was going to matter at all? Absolutely not. That's why Jokic's answer was so perfect. He was basically saying how cute it was that the Heat fans booed him. How do you respond to that? This guy went into your building and ripped your heart out, only to then twist the knife and make it clear that the only thing the fans could do (boo), did absolutely nothing. How do you come back from that? These teams won't play again unless there's a highly unlikely meeting in the NBA Finals so Heat fans sort of have to just eat this for the rest of the year. That's tough.

It's a shame both sides weren't healthy for this game because maybe it would have been more competitive, but one thing we know for certain is that booing Jokic doesn't do a damn thing. Not when you've had his life. Maybe next time they should go with trying to have their hyped up DPOY player in Bam try to actually shut him down rather than relying on booing. Just an idea.
