Aaron Rodgers Most Definitely Still Owns The Bears, But The Important Thing Is That Matt Nagy Had Fun Out There

Packers 45 Bears 30

Well that was certainly a much more entertaining game than I ever imagined it to be, but I'll settle for the win and cover. Despite the game having a 43 point over/under these two teams combined for the second highest scoring total in the history of the rivalry. There was a lot of good and bad that went on in this one, so let's dive in.

We'll start with the man at the center of it all, Mr. Rodgers. Despite seemingly all of the controversy in the world circling him whenever he says a word, Rodgers has remained stellar on the field. Once the game starts all of the background noise shuts off and he just dominates.

The first half of this one had its ups and downs for sure, but this bomb to Davante really got everything going.

From there on out they settled into an unbreakable rhythm that helped them pull away in the second half no matter what the special teams unit had in mind (they were so bad and we'll get into that shorty).

Rodgers continues to own the Bears plain and simple. Despite holding multiple ten point leads, the Bears weren't close to overcoming Aaron Rodgers on Sunday night. Rodgers was asked recently if he regretted his viral outburst screaming "I still own you" to the Chicago faithful and said no, it's just the truth. He's not wrong in the slightest so why should he apologize. Once again he was flawless out there as he continued to boost his chances of taking home a second MVP in as many years. Brady's the front runner right now, but any slip up and that's Rodgers' hardware/ 29-37 341 yards, 4 TDs and 0 INTs. Not too shabby if you ask me. Here are a few of my favorites throws.

This one was more funny than impressive. What in the name of God did Matt Nagy think was going to happen going single coverage on Davante at the goal line. You're basically waving the white flag doing that.

BBQ chicken.

Offense was great. Special teams however? An atrocity. Really fucking bad. It's been like this all season long and nothing has changed, and in fact it's gotten worse. There is not a single thing that unit does well. Crosby shockingly didn't miss any kicks tonight, but did manage to send a kickoff out of bounds, thus gifting the Bears with great field position. The Packers gave up a touchdown on a punt that was inexplicably fielded at the 5 yard line. They also gave up multiple deep returns on kickoffs and managed to allow an onside kick recovery. Had no clue you couldn't advance an onside kick upon recovery by the way, what a dumb rule. Why is that a rule???

Did I miss anything? Probably and that's terrifying. You cannot have your special teams unit doing this in the postseason if you want to be taken seriously as a contender for the Lombardi. There's only four games to go in the season, figure it the fuck out. And for the love of god please stop putting rookie WR Amari Rodgers back out there for punts. If not for a questionable penalty on his horrifically muffed punt, the Bears probably make it interesting in the 2nd half. Do they win? No, but it would have been close enough to sweat most likely. I'd rather the other A. Rodgers on the team. give it a shot than that guy. No más.

Defense was solid despite giving up 30. More than half the time the Bears started with the ball at midfield if you think about it. Stokes locked up Allen Robinson all night. Preston forced a fumble. Rasul Douglas had another pick 6 as it continues to be a complete mystery how this man was trapped on the Cardinals practice squad earlier in the year. This one, however, I'm sure every corner in the league could've had. Throw a worse pass Justin Fields, you can't.

Injuries continue to be a problem for this team, especially on the o-line. Billy Turner going down tonight sucks. Dennis Kelly had to step in and thankfully did a solid job. Still, as Green Bay heads into a road matchup vs. Baltimore they could be without Bakhtiari, Jenkins, Turner, and Meyers. That's a big problem.

At the end of the day I'm just happy Matt Nagy had fun out there. That's what it's all about.

Rodgers and LaFleur continue to steer this hectic, controversial ship in the right direction somehow. They clinch the North with a win in Baltimore next Sunday. Go Pack Go.

P.S. Hand up, when this video started I did not expect to see Carl calling Anthony Rizzo a pussy to his face. Is Rizzo a Packers fan? Love that.
