Tom Brady Hints At A Comeback Less Than A Week After Retiring

Tom Brady hasn't even been retired for a week and has already hinted at a comeback. On his podcast Let's Go, the G.O.A.T. told Jim Gray:

“You know, I’m just gonna take things as they come. I think that’s the best way to put it and I don’t think anything, you know, you never say never. At the same time I know that I’m very, I feel very good about my decision. I don’t know how I’ll feel six months from now, [inaudible] change, it most likely won’t. But I try to make the best possible decision I can in the moment, which I did this last week. And, again, I think it’s not looking to reverse course, I’m definitely not looking to do that. But in the same time I think you have to be realistic that you never know what challenges there are gonna be in life. Again, I loved playing. I’m looking forward to doing things other than playing.”

The last week has been an absolute rollercoaster of emotions as a Bucs fan. I never really thought Aaron Rodgers would get dealt, but I do know the Russell Wilson has expressed some unhappiness in Seattle. Could he be a fit?

He looks awfully good in a Bucs jersey! What about Deshaun Watson? He's an elite young QB in the AFC. He'd certainly be expensive. But Bucs GM Jason Licht and Texans GM Nick Caserio worked very closely together with the Patriots on two different occasions. Could he just pick up the phone and get it done?

Well, a lot still has to be solved with Watson's legal issues. Then I got more realistic. Heck, we drafted a guy in the 2nd round last year with Kyle Trask! In an interview post-Brady retirement, Licht even said they are super pleased they took him last year as they like him over every QB coming out this year. So I went back to pre-season to get some looks again at the young Buc:

But then again, he sat behind Blaine Gabbert this year. Blaine's a former 1st rounder (2011) and learned behind Tom for a couple of years. Does he have the tools to actually get it done given the opportunity?

Dude has got an absolute cannon! And finally after talking myself into Blaine freakin' Gabbert, I get news that maybe Tom could come back in a few months! There is nothing more powerful than hope, and now I have an a ton of it. Come back Tom!

While there is a lot to be determined over the next few months, one thing is for sure, "you know, you never say never." -Tom Brady
