Kenny Oyama Is The Short King That College Baseball Needs

If you aren't on the Kenny Oyama train yet, hop on. This kid from UCLA is a ball of energy. And yes, your eyes aren't lying to you, he is TINY. 5'4 and 150 pounds, he makes Jose Altuve look massive, but like Altuve he can play. He has to be the smallest guy in college baseball and I love him for it. Finally, a baseball player built like me! He is a spark plug if I've ever seen one. He's hitting .271 in 12 games this season, has 13 hits total and has 12 stolen bases. If he gets on base he's going to steal on you and there's nothing you can do about it.

I mean no disrespect to Kenny, but this video looks like a little leaguer snuck onto the field and got an AB, I love it. He's so much fun to watch out there, and I know we never use the word "electric" to describe something here at Barstool, but Kenny Oyama is electric.  He is lighting in a bottle out there. We like to fall in love with these prospects who are built like brick houses with shoulders that are massive, but there is something about a guy who looks like he's 14 being able to hang with the best of the best in college baseball.

Look at him fly through the air with the greatest of ease to make the catch!

He is one of those guys who will walk, steal second, steal third, and score on a grounder the next pitch. He's a freak on the base paths and creates so much havoc out there. Like a Billy Hamilton or a Rickey Henderson. You know he's going to steal and you can't stop him.

So this is a message to all the other short guys out there, it's okay. You can be 5'4 and look like a middle schooler and still play on the big stage. If Kenny Oyama isn't your favorite college baseball player this season you're doing it wrong. Going forward this is now a Kenny Oyama Stan account. Love to see a guy represent for all us shorts.

Plus we're going to get many of these Altuve - Aaron Judge type pictures all season and they're the best.
